It’s all about the bottom line, dude
If there were a thesaurus for blogs instead of words, you could look up drinkboston.com and find this video under “antonyms.” Called “Conventional Wisdom,” it’s a short documentary of vendors pushing their wares at a recent bar industry convention. Flavored sugars for rimming cocktail glasses, toilet seats that self-sanitize, a shiny Limousine Bus (a.k.a. “rolling party”) complete with dance floor and stripper pole … it’s all there. And it all enhances “your bottom line.” Sure it does.

Hilarious! Nice to see trade show hucksterism knows no industry bounds: the trappings of that show would be equally at home at a high tech industry show.
That bottle-lighting gimmick is clever in a bad-dating-bar kind of way, a bit like a Close ‘n Play kid’s phonograph from the Sixties. But I have my doubts about that sake liqueur, especially when its vendor can’t properly pronounce “liqueur”.
I’m also fairly certain that serving fried grasshoppers as a bar snack, no matter how salty, will do the opposite of improving your bottom line.

Yeah, the bottle lighting thing is adorably idiotic. The shot-glass-in-a-beer-glass contraption may take the cake, though. If having the shot glass in your boilermaker slam into your teeth is a recurring problem, you need more help than this gadget can offer.

Well there’s certainly nothing wrong with the occasional stripper pole 😀
