I have been to Stoddard's a few times now. Which one is Jamie Walsh? Is he the funny guy with the BIG Boston accent?

When I had the Frobisher last week, Hugh told me that it was named after "an English explorer who discovered the Northeast passage."

I'll research it a little more when I do my blog write-up.

Also had a shaken Sazerac, a watery Brandy Crusta, and a "what's that?" when I asked for a Daisy. Beer list is great though—the Clown Shoes Black IPA (in cask) is my favorite at the moment. The food is good too, try the grilled ramps (a form of leeks). Been there on 3 separate occasions; now convinced it's great for beer and not cocktails. I appreciate the Roaring Twenties' big band swing they play when it's not happy hour, it really helps set the mood. Too bad that goes out the window at 5pm.

Two pretty bad visits to Stoddard's so far from a cocktail perspective. I'm quite certain a Jack Rose isn't supposed to be yellow and as sweet as candy.

Enjoyed Stoddard's for the first time this week. Excellent Rittenhouse Rye Manhattan. Really like the space and service.

In addition to big improvements with the cocktails, Joy is doing a great job bringing hospitality back to the Franklin.

Gertsen and crew continue to work their magic at Drink. Service and cocktails continue to impress with every visit.

That's how James Bond ordered his Sazeracs... yikes. Yes, Aaron, others have mistakenly attributed the Frobisher to Martin, not Arthur. I love that Bostonians know their privateers.

I was excited when I saw the Frobisher on the list because since it used Oxley Gin I thought it was named after Martin Frobisher, one of the greatest British Privateers of the 16th Century. But then I was wrong =(

It's still a tasty cocktail!

Thanks for sharing the video of John in Paris.

Not loving Stoddard's. The space is beautiful, but in my two visits it's demonstrated itself to be more of a gin and tonic bar than a safe place for cocktailians. A friend of mine ordered a Sazerac, and they shook it.
