Even though I grew up in South Carolina, my dad was born and raised in Somerville, Mass. I learned my love of the Red Sox from him. But God bless my dad, he was born in 1918 and died in February 2004 and never saw his Sox win a series in all of his 86 years. It was amazing to see them win in 2004 and again this year, but it sure makes me miss my dad. So, in your celebrating, please raise a glass and toast all those fans who went their entire lives without witnessing and enjoying what we have celebrated twice in three years.
