My wife and I went to #9 for our anniversary a few weeks back and did the chef's tasting menu. As part of my gift to her (in addition to a cocktail class taught by John Gertsen at Stir, Chef Lynch's teaching kitchen / book store), I arranged to have a cocktail pairing menu created to match the chef's menu. John worked with his bar staff and the kitchen crew for several days to predict the chef's menu for the date of our reservation and came up with the most amazing (and appropriate) pairings. He also delivered all of the drinks to our table and spent a few minutes each time telling us about their histories. It made for a perfect evening!
I'm reluctant to post about this because it had to have been quite a lot of work for all involved. But, John assured us he had a blast doing it and encouraged us to let other folks know about it.
